About Discover Alone
Discover Alone puts more than a million places on a nearby map across Ireland and Britain. Search a town or use your location, choose a distance, and open a pin to see photographs, original records and nearby places. Selected pages have Explorer Tom's playful stories, practical tips and guidance. The map is free to browse, and its source links let you check a place before you travel. A map pin does not mean public access; check rights of way and local conditions before setting off.
Who is Discover Alone for?
For anyone planning a free day out, curious about local history, or looking for overlooked places close to home. Locals, visitors, families and community groups can compare nearby choices and check the original source records.
How does Discover Alone work?
Open discoveralone.com, search a town or use your location, choose a distance, then tap a pin. Open its place page for photographs, source links and other nearby places. When a place has a written guide, Tom adds a lively introduction, tips and guidance. Check access before travelling.
